Evaluating Inclusive Programs

I have always believed that a truly inclusive program is one where inclusion doesn't feel force but its rather truly felt, seen and heard. Accommodations, intervention plans, amongst other things help to create such environments. Accomodating to individual needs ensures a child is being cater to and nurture in their own unique way. Intervention plans, help to target challenging areas and redirecting their focus to other things. A great opportunity to Implement an intervention plan would be if a child is hurting himself, taking observations of possible triggers and making plans to stop the behaviour before it happens, as well as providing materials that can help redirect focus to something else.

I have personally been part of creating service plans, as well as creating visuals for classrooms, social stories for modeling behavior and folder activities that can be used for scaffolding learning, as well as visual schedules. Being able to provide resources to other educators like me, made me excited for what's to come next in my journey.
