Communication and Collaboration
Effective Communication, collaboration, and conflict resolution are key elements for a successful group dynamic. As members of the family service team, we often engage in collaborative work so open and respectful collaboration is a big part of our everyday life. Both as an educator as a resource consultant student, I have been witness of the advantages and disadvantages an unsuccessful group dynamic can bring to the table, it is of at most importance that as we move forward in the field, we keep an open mind and the child and family in question at the forefront of our priority list.
Team Work
During my first placement as a Resource Consultant student, I had the pleassure of getting to know many wonderful children, and also to assist in many cases. One of the most reflective moments during my placement was helping a child with rett syndrome adjust her stander. My hosting resource consultant, on of her educators and I virtually met with someone from the agency the stander belonged to. t the time, it was everyone's priority to adjust posture and height on the stander as it would better physsically support the child. My host resource consultant commented it was upto all of us to get this done as the agency would not be able to visit the centre until late August. Seeing everyne's comitmment to the child's comfort, and their dedication to get the exact measurements made me realie how important team work is to our profession.

Part of a Team
As per agency requirements, during my first placement as a resource consultant I was able to learn how to use and access many online servers and tools. Things like microsoft Teams became a part of my everyday life, as we often shared information, met up for peer support and inquire for help and resources from one anothher. As I move forward with my studies and career, I hope to gain the opportunity to learn about other tools, portals and resources that differ from each agency.
